I love baseball fans.

I love passion.

But sometimes when they mix….well…

The title of this article, Joc Pederson vs Dustin Harris, is not a serious headline.
Its a silly joke…just don’t tell the Texas Rangers X community.

It is Monday, April 14th at almost midnight as I write this. Joc Pederson has a
grand total of 43 at bats so far in 2025…53 plate appearances.

Joc Pederson had a 2.9 WAR last season, the 2nd highest of his career. The
Rangers saw that season and saw their need for a power lefthanded bat and
made the decision to add Joc on a 2 year $37 MILLION DOLLAR CONTRACT.

As someone who loves to have the Texas Rangers winning games I was ecstatic
about this signing! It exactly filled a huge whole on the Rangers roster! Perfect fit!
Perfect guy! LOVED IT!

Hold that thought.

The Rangers have a prospect named Dustin Harris. Harris has a chance to be a
major leaguer. In 32 at bats in Round Rock so far this season, the Rangers AAA
team, Harris is hitting .185, with 0 HRs & 0 RBI’s. Last year in AAA he hit .272 with
10 HRs & 53 RBI’s. He struck out 123 times in 486 ABs.

In AAA.

He is NOT a Top Tier Prospect.

Prospects 1500 (@prospects1500) has him as a Tier 4 prospect, ranked 15th on
their Rangers list. That seems high too me.

They say about Harris, “Harris hasn’t put it all together to be more than a potential
utility type.”

Listen, guys out play their prospect ratings all the time…and Harris could
absolutley get it rolling and be a MLB contributor. He has an outside shot at
being a major league starter….I think it is HIGHLY UNLIKELY but it is not a zero
percent chance thing, I’d put it at under 5% but what do I know?

Now back to Joc!

He has not been able to hit water falling out of a boat so far in 2025. Its been
ugly. But we are talking about 43 at bats! Let me state a fact again…Joc had a
WAR of 2.9 in 2024.

Is there anyone out there that thinks Dustin Harris will have a 2.9 WAR in 2025?

How about this….who out there thinks Harris will have a career WAR of 2.9 or
more.

And most importantly, is there truly anyone who thinks Dustin Harris will be
better in 2025 or 2026 than Joc Pederson?

Now lets go to social media…
