Houston Astros’ second baseman Jose Altuve entered Monday night’s game sitting at 174 career home runs, tied for fifth on the Astros all-time leader board. That is until he clubbed a leadoff home run to enter the top five all-time in Astros history with 175.
Altuve broke the tie with former Astro George Springer with home run number 175 for his career, etching his name amongst the best in Astros history. Here is the updated leaderboard after last night;
- Jeff Bagwell: 449 home runs
- Lance Berkman: 326 homeruns
- Craig Biggio: 291 home runs
- Jim Wynn: 223 home runs
- Jose Altuve: 175 home runs
For a player that was denied opportunity after opportunity in the big leagues to have accomplished this alongside his many other accomplishments is fantastic. At only age 32, Altuve still has some time to achieve more.
